Asus ZenFone 6 leaks show worrying features for a 2019 flagship ||

The MWC 2019 is just a few weeks away and rumors of some big announcements from smartphone manufacturers have already hyped up the geeks. We know that Samsung is expected to unveil its Galaxy S10 just before the MWC alongside the foldable smartphone. Huawei is also supposed to unveil a foldable phone alongside a couple of flagship models. However, Asus has been surprisingly not in the news lately, with many expecting a no-show from the Taiwanese brand. That's not the case as a leak of a new Asus device is doing rounds of the Internet.
The latest photos of an upcoming Asus smartphone have been out on the web for a while. The smartphone is supposed to be called the ZenFone 6 - a successor to the ZenFone 5 series launched last year. The leaked photo shows the device with a new feature that has been never seen before on an Asus smartphone - a triple camera setup.
The ZenFone 6 seems to feature a triple camera setup. The module resembles the unit we saw on the Huawei P20 Pro last year - two cameras paired together while the third one sits outside, alongside the LED flash. The rear also features a very Huawei-esque color gradient, especially for the one with red and purple shades. The black variant seems to have similar shades as the ZenFone Max Pro M2.
The box underneath the phone shows parts of the front of the device. The ZenFone 6 avoids a notch by sporting thick bezel around, possibly with an aspect ratio of 18:9. The bottom chin also seems to sport a capacitive fingerprint sensor while the forehead contains the camera, earpiece, and sensors. As of now, no specifications have been leaked.
Judging by what the photos show, it is completely possible that this is a midrange offering from the Taiwanese brand. The ZenFone 6 could be sitting above the ZenFone Max Pro M2 and could possibly be powered by a Snapdragon 670 chipset, considering last year's ZenFone 5 was powered by a Snapdragon 660.
However, the ZenFone 6Z, or whatever the successor to the ZenFone 5Z may be called, could borrow most design elements from this model. A triple camera setup on Asus' flagship now seems completely possible along with a multi-color gradient rear panel. However, Asus will be surely going with a notched display design for the ZenFone 6Z, considering the cheapest ZenFone models already sport notches. It will be interesting to see whether Asus goes for a dewdrop notch or a punch-hole camera design.
Rest assured, the ZenFone 6Z could rely on a Snapdragon 855 and could offer up to 10GB RAM. Prices could be closer to the OnePlus 6T and Honor View 20.
